Donation Statistics

Most people who donate their organs are deceased and decide previously on their drivers license but we are trying to change the stigma around being a live donor

104,000 people of all ages on the waiting list for organ donation as of this 2024 year.

99,300 of these people can receive a organ donation from a living person

There are ~ 89,300 people who need a kidney and ~ 10,000 people who need a liver.

The kidney and liver are two organs you can donate while you are alive

The average recovery time for an organ donation is around 6-8 weeks to return to feeling 100% again. In retrospect that is 0.0001% of your life, this is inconsequential compared to the organ recipient who will die if they do not get an organ

It takes approximately 5 years to receive a kidney off of the transplant list and 11 months to receive a liver. 5,600 people in the US die each year while on the transplant waiting list
